On March 9, 2006 the eighth Co-op turbine in Washington was energized outside Ellensburg. Dr. Marilynn Carr, a family medicine practitioner, had a nine kilowatt wind-solar hybrid system installed on her property. The unique system powers a back of batteries, with excess production net-metered into the grid.

Dr. Carr's turbine is the first within Puget Sound Energy's service territory. PSE and their customers are supporting OWC by purchasing Green Tags under their Green Power Program.
